Services for Children

Rivendell Behavioral Health Hospital’s Choices program provides therapeutic inpatient treatment for children ages 5 and up in a secure, consistent and nurturing environment. Children receive treatment for a wide range of psychiatric issues, depression, post-traumatic stress, anxiety, disordered thinking, behavioral issues or childhood psychiatric problems.

Our acute inpatient treatment provides short-term crisis stabilization for children in need of care in an intensive, secure therapeutic environment.

Children who begin treatment at Rivendell may struggle with one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Potential harm to others, including animals
  • Patterns of disorganized or dangerous behavior such as:
    • Fire setting
    • Running away
    • Drug or alcohol use
    • Severe anxiety and panic
    • Destructive behaviors
    • Inability to function (at home or school) due to severe depression or other emotional issues

At Rivendell, we believe that no one should have to face a crisis alone. If your child or a loved one needs help, we’re here for you day or night. Referrals can be made by physicians, therapists, ministers, social services agencies or family members. Assessments can be completed at the hospital, or mobile assessments are available by appointment.
